How does one get an instrument and get started?

There are many ways to find band instruments for beginners:

• You might already have one. If an older sibling and even parent used to play and the instrument is still in a closet, it may be used. However, when instruments sit and do nothing, they tend to stop playing and may need repair (especially woodwinds). In this case, we can recommend a qualified repair technician.

• You may want to purchase an instrument. There are many ways to purchase an instrument. There are a number of quality music stores in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area that have excellent instruments for purchase. You might find a number of possibilities on Internet sources like eBay; however, these can be risky and in many cases are not quality instruments (and may only last a year or two). Mr. Anderson can advise you on these types of instruments, if necessary.
